Regular washing detergent strips the waterproofing from your rugs and can shorten their life. Nikwax Rug Wash™ is a highly effective cleaner for horse rugs, which also revitalises existing Durable Water Repellency (DWR) and improves breathability. This protects your horse from getting wet in the rain and prevents the build up of condensation inside rugs and coats, maintaining the comfort of your horse.
Nikwax Rug Wash™ is an environmentally friendly natural vegetable-based soap; it is non-hazardous, WaterBased and biodegradable.
Recomended use is 150ml per rug.

Wouldn't use anything else on my good rugs
By: Kate on 17 August 2016I only use this product (and its waterproofing friend) on my Bucas rugs. It maintains the waterproofing perfectly - oh, and does a really good job of cleaning it, of course :-)

Rambo rugs

fresh clean rugs every time
By: Joy on 12 March 2015my horse rugs are washed at least once a month, Nik Wax wash cleans them and leaves them in excellent order, I only use the water proofing wash every third wash, and have found this to work well

Nik Wax wash & waterproofed

BUT it would have been a great help to know that I bottle of wash does 4x rugs and 1x bottle proofer only 2x rugs. Then I would have ordered extra bottle of proofer to order & not have the extra 2nd postage cost added for a 2nd order. Rugs cleaned completely
By: Carolyn on 7 October 2013I was so thrilled with the result from Nixwax Rug wash - the rugs were so clean. Nixwax was gentle on the rugs yet managed to clean them brilliantly. A must in your laundry at the end of winter!
