Spoiled for choice

I couldn't decide between the Equinez EQ Original Wool Lined Cotton Quilted Dressage s/c and the Equinez Wickable Wool Lined Dressage s/c, so I bought one of each. Both are performing really well, and get full marks for function, but lack in the design area by being too small for an adult 17 1/2 " dressage saddle. The Wickable is really too small, both in width and depth; the Original is the same width, but a little deeper, but is still borderline in size.The Wickable has a better wither clearance and I'm finding the Original does drop onto the wither no matter how carefully you saddle up. The Wickable is also thicker, but since my saddle is a little too wide for my horse they are both ideal, but if your saddle is a good fit I'd recommend the Original. So far my horse seems very happy and comfortable, and I am impressed and will reorder if they don't shrink when washed (havn't tried that yet). I do wish Equinez would make them bigger, another 5 cm minimum in width and 8 cm additional depth would suit most conventional dressage saddles. If your saddle has a deeper flap for longer legs they aren't suitable. I love the caramel colour and wish it was available in the Original, since it's slightly larger and is the one I'll be reordering.

Wool but without the bulk

Love this saddle blanket! Not a fan of big thick sheepskin pads or shims etc (think your saddle should fit without them - unless adjusting for multiple horses of course) but this is like the old fashioned wool blankets we had as kids (but without the bulk). My horse has been very happy in it and am now buying a white one for competition! Highly recommend.

This saddle cloth gives me the confidence in my mares comfort even as her shape changes over time.....I am not a fan of over thick saddle cloths, nor wearing two pads - sheepskin and lifters etc plus cotton for fear of slippage etc. My current saddle and saddle cloth fit was confirmed by my saddle fitter who also advised what to look out for as we expected her top line to change over time. However, I also wanted to ensure she has enough ongoing protection. This is probably the thickest pad I would use. No sheepskin in the gullet allows good air flow. Note to self .... allow for the change in saddle cloth thickness when girthing up for the first time. It may only be one hole difference but it does make a difference.

Great saddle blanket!! Love the wool, adds comfort to the horse! I prefer the small diamond quilting that this saddle blanket has and they wash up really well!! Sat perfect, dosen't slip and looks great!!

I was very happy to see these saddle blankets available again. I have one that I've been using for 18mths and I absolutely love it. Great quality and my horse seems much happier with this saddle pad.

Equinenz, wool lined saddle blanket

I love the Equinenz saddle blankets as they reduce bulk under your saddle. Very soft on the horses back and breathable too.

Excellent saddle blanket

This is a great saddle blanket and really good value for money because you don't need to buy a separate saddle pad. It washes really well and isn't as bulky under the saddle as other brands I've tried.
